Procedure for applying MASTERCARD Prepaid Card

1. Visit nearest branches to get the application form.

2. Fill in the Form

3. Attached with required documents.

Required Documents

NRC copy (Front and Back) (or) Passport Copy (Front and Black) (and) an email address to apply the MasterCard Prepaid Card.

(Customers may need to bring all the original documents while visiting to the bank.)

4. Yangon branches (Customers may need to wait 3 days to get the card)

5. Other cities branches (Customers may need to wait 1 week to get the card)

6. Please kindly collect the card personally at the bank and bring the original NRC.

7. Please don’t forget to check the email regularly not to miss the benefits of cards, deals, promotions, payment dates and other required information.

Contactless payments use short-range wireless technology to make secure payments between a contactless card or payment-enabled device and a contactless-enabled checkout terminal. When you tap your card or device near the Contactless Symbol, your payment is sent for authorization.

MAB Mastercard prepaid card is available for USD currency.

4. How do I know the balances on my Mastercard prepaid card?

You can check your balance at the nearest MAB ATM and from your MAB i-banking.

5. What’re the differences between existing Mastercard prepaid cards and new Mastercard prepaid cards?

7. Where can I apply my Mastercard prepaid card?

You can apply at any of your any preferred MAB branches.

8. Right after I received Mastercard prepaid card, can I use it right away?

Yes, once you have received your Mastercard prepaid card you may start using it. But please activate first at any MAB branches before you start using it.

9. Do I need to activate and/or register my card before using it?

Yes, you will need to activate your MAB prepaid card at the branch.

10. Which documents shall I bring along when I come and collect my Mastercard Prepaid Card?

Please bring your NRC original when you come and collect your Mastercard Prepaid Card.

11. Are there any changes for MAB prepaid card fees and charges?

Yes, there are. We subscribe our MAB prepaid card details fees and charges on MAB website.

12. What’s the exchange rate when I go and spend in other countries?

The exchange rate is determined by Visa/MasterCard. Please note that there’s cross border service fees (it is subjected to Market Rate).

13. Are there any extra fees and charges for swiping at abroad POS terminals for MAB Visa/MasterCard prepaid card?

There will be cross-border service fees (it is subjected to Market Rate) and other overseas bank charges.

14. What if the old prepaid card is already terminated, and the customer never come and pick up the new card too within the instructed period, so how’s about the balances in old prepaid card?

The balances from old prepaid card will be transferred to the new prepaid card by 3^rdNovember 2019 and you’ll be informed to collect the new prepaid card as the old prepaid card will be terminated on 31st October or please visit MAB branches to request the new prepaid card.
