You will receive your MPU-UnionPay Platinum Debit Card approximately 5 working days after submitting your application provided all the supporting documentation is in order.

There are 2 ways to activate your Card:
a) Please call to MAB Call Center (+951-8610612) to activate the Card (You will be asked a few questions for security clearance purposes)
b) You can also activate your Card at any MAB Branch.

You can commence using your Card immediately upon activation.

PIN can be changed at any MAB branch or via any MAB ATMs

You will need to contact MAB Branch and fill out the prescribed form in order to reset your PIN No.

Cardholders can check their transactions and account balance 24/7 – 365 days of the year through MAB iBanking.

You must exercise great care to safeguard your Card and PIN at all times. Always keep your Card in a safe place and never share the details of your Card Number or PIN with anyone.

You should never write down your PIN.

Cardholders can log in www.mabbank.com and access Internet Banking to self-block the card or contact our MAB Call Center(+951-8610612) or any of our branches to report the loss/theft of the Card.

Your Card will be immediately blocked and no further transactions will be allowed on the Card.

A replacement Card will be issued to you, subject to payment of the card replacement fee as stated in the relevant terms and conditions.

You can get emergency assistance anytime, anywhere, and in any language. UnionPay Global Services helps you with reporting a lost or stolen card, obtaining emergency card replacement, and finding an ATM location.

A transaction may be declined due to insufficient balance or any other reasons. You may wish to check your balance via MAB iBanking or alternatively, you can contact our MAB Call Center (+951-8610612) for this purpose.

Yes, they can, by calling at any MAB branches.

Just like a prepaid or credit card, the MAB MPU-UnionPay Platinum Debit Card can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
a. To pay for goods and services at physical retail locations, in Myanmar as well as overseas
b. To make ATM cash withdrawals
c. To shop online 24/7, 365 days throughout the year

The Card is valid for a duration of 5 years. Upon expiration, the Card will no longer be valid for use. Cardholders will be issued a replacement card 2 months prior to their present card expiry date.

MAB MPU-UnionPay Platinum Debit Card is an international co-brand debit payment card, with MPU and UnionPay International. In Myanmar, this card is used in the MPU network, and in foreign countries, it is used in UnionPay International network.

PIN No. is the security related secret numbers to access ATM, POS and E-commerce.

You can use MAB MPU-UnionPay Platinum Debit Card both locally and overseas at any POS installed locations, ATMs with MPU logo or UnionPay logo.

The expiry date is 5 years. You cannot use it when your card has expired.

Limitations for overseas transactions of POS and E-comm – 500,000 MMK per day

MAB MPU-UnionPay Platinum Debit Card is connected to your savings or current account. Any amount transacted with the card will be deducted from your saving or current account. The card can be used at POS installed locations, online payments and ATMs.

Yes, you may use this card for both E commerce and other online payments websites which accepts UnionPay.

Debit Card is linked with CASA account while Prepaid Card is not. Instead, you are spending money you have loaded onto the prepaid card in advance.

A chip card, also called an EMV chip card or Smart Chip card, uses an embedded microchip instead of a magnetic strip to store data. The microchip embedded in your card encrypts your data, providing enhanced security against counterfeiting when used at a chip-enabled terminal.

Yes. In Myanmar for all of your Point of Sales (POS) transactions, you need to enter PIN to authenticate the transaction. However, outside Myanmar, you will not have to enter the PIN to authenticate the transactions.

The transaction currency for overseas transactions depends on the transaction currency of respective countries. The transaction currency is converted to equivalent in US$ and further to MMK using the exchange rates set by Union Pay International.

The transaction currency for domestic transactions depend on merchants accepting the card whether MMK or USD. Any USD transactions will be converted to equivalent to MMK using the prevailing exchange rates.
