Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, counterparties, and financial instruments using financial statements and credit reports.
  • Policy Development: implement credit risk policies and procedures that align with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III).
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Oversee credit exposures, track performance metrics (e.g., Non-Performing Loans, Provisions), and conduct stress testing.
  • Stress Testing: Conduct scenario analysis to determine how economic downturns might affect the borrower’s ability to repay debts.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with underwriting, lending, and collections teams to implement mitigation strategies and optimize credit decisions. Understand the hierarchy of organization and support, challenge and escalate culture are to achieve the targets and common goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare risk evaluation reports and provide strategic guidance to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Training: Provide credit risk awareness time to time basis to each aera.
  • Implementation: credit risk measurement, systems, management systems & tools e.g. credit rating scorecards & systems, credit exposure and collateral management systems, portfolio management systems, credit risk capital calculator, etc.

Requirement

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or others related field is required. MBA or a Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or others related field may be preferred
  • 5 to 8+ years of proven experience in credit risk, commercial loan underwriting, or portfolio management within the banking sector.
  • Working knowledge of credit risk management and must possess sound market and industry knowledge of the banking sector.
  • Good understanding of Central Bank regulations and international practices.
  • Credit analysis experience and understanding of counterparties and investment products.
  • Good knowledge of lending and portfolio management parameters and objectives.
  • Ability to handle several complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Possess great written and verbal communication skills to be able to work effectively with others. Able to communicate and present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, maintain timelines and manage/plan workloads.
  • Ability to direct and motivate a team in order to deliver a common goal.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Skill Requirement

  • Risk Evaluation: Assess the financial health and repayment capacity of potential corporate or retail loan applicants.
  • Policy Enforcement: Develop and recommend credit SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and policies to align with broader regional and regulatory practices.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Continuously track outstanding credit behaviors to detect early warning signs of default.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using risk assessment system/software and databases.
  • Decision Making & Judgment: Strong problem-solving skills to confidently support, reject, or conditionally restructure deals under tight timelines.
  • Integrity & Discretion: High ethical standards when handling sensitive financial information
